Cidiots & Spiders & Ashtrays! Oh my!

I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to update on my antics. Where have I been? Well, I finally found the time to get my butt into NYC to see Reffi & Ep.  This entailed taking a ride on the infamous Hampton Jitney which is usually about as much fun as root canal.  Saturday morning during Holiday Rush is not always the best choice.  I was lucky enough to have a great seatmate this time.  I got on The Jitney, and the seats were packed! Most of the passenegers had their crap on the seat next to them ( too lazy to put it in the compartment above their heads? Silly me this is NY, Cidiots still do exist in the winter, I usually don’t have to deal with them though), but wayyyyyyy in the back there was a man nice enough to move all of his stuff off the window seat so I could sit.  How was I to know that I would be sitting next to Spider from the Hollywood Spiders? Check them out www.myspace.com/hollywoodspiders.  Not only is he a rockstar, he is also a fellow Aquarian, ( yes, we are a completely different breed) which of course is a recipe for entertainment no matter how you slice it.  We had so much fun! He asked me if I was an actress. LMAO!  I told him the truth,  I’m just dramatic. We drove the poor girl who works for The Jitney crazy to the point that she just brought us handfuls of muffins, bottles of water ( like 6) and anything else she could so as not to have to come back and deal with us again.  Towards the end of the ride she came back and spoke to us for about 20 minutes or so. I guess she needed some respite,  we really were just having fun, not being annoying like the rest of the bus.  Well, we finally got to my stop in NYC & unloaded all of our stuff from the bus.  I stepped onto the sidewalk, and had to hold my ears as I tried to shreik  audibly “It’s so noisy here!” The noise was deafening. Not really, I’m just used to not having to listen to bells, and horns, and whistles and whatver else is making a racket in the Big City.  Whoa!!   We said goodbye, and I’m positive we’ll keep in touch.

I got to spend the rest of the day with my girls which included a wonderful brunch of Eggs Baltimore at Annie’s (they have since closed for relocation) , a trip to Sephora where Reffi treated me to Fresh Lip Sugar which is my new fav lip treatment,  a visit to Dylan’s Candy Bar for treat for my son & I, cupcakes for all of us at Crumb’s and plenty of tummy tickles for Ep.

Well, I was sad to have to leave them, but will make sure I get back in soon. Great friends & company are hard to come by.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

As 2007 comes to an end I would like to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous 2008!  Let’s pray it will be smooth sailing compared to ‘07.  I really don’t think that anything could be as much of a nightmare as this year. I shall not jinx myself by spewing cliches.  I can say with all honesty ( as I always do) that I truly now understand Mr. Nietzsche and his infamous ” What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger”.  I can’t help but wonder if the globe on my shoulders came with software that I forgot to install.  Even that would not have prepared me for the slalom I managed to survive.   Well,  I’m still cute, still smiling, my glass is still half full -I have run out of olives though :-(   and  I have my family and a few close friends to thank for convincing me not to save what was left of my sanity and just go on.  This is my first New Year’s Eve without my Mother.  No matter where I was or who I was with I have always called home at midnight, while watching  Mr. Clark bid a fond farewell to years gone. Tonight as we 3 generations watch Dick do his magic, I pray that she and all of you are in a wonderful place! xo
